The Sartorialist does Rio.

The Sartorialist has been shooting in Rio this past wee while and has just popped a bunch of photos up, I hope there is more to come. Perfect timing to get me ridiculously excited about our adventure, tickets just arrived.

Fused.

I've been interested in fusing plastic bags for awhile now and really want to get into doing some of my own fused products. It seems to be really easy (so the instructions tell me)- but I'll let you know when I get round to testing it out for myself!

Here are some of the best fused products I've seen lately on Etsy, they are pretty darn attractive I think!

Mssmo85's fused grocery bags purse. I also really like their skull scarf (which is on sale).



And my favourite of all, Curious Doodles 'I just need to be held' Laptop case. Made from over 30 plastic bags, lined with extra soft upcycled tshirt fabric and include padded pocket channels for protection stuffed with (more) plastic bags. Perfecto.

Swap-Away.

Alex, Jess and I are in the midst of organising a clothing swap event here in Auckland called 'Swap-Away'.

Swap-Away is being held on the 6th of December, at the Leys Institute Hall in Ponsonby- and will hopefully be a whole lot of fun. If it sounds like something you'd be keen to attend you can sign up to our Swap-Away mailing list on the 'blog.

Troop Beverly Hills.

Troop Beverly Hills was one of my favourite childhood movies. I must have watched it at least 20 times, but our video copy of it (taped straight from the t.v. 80's ads and all) was no where to be found the last time I looked for it.

The movie made me love the Beatles song 'When I'm 64' and taught me the art of a good ghost story, as well as a whole lot more nonsense. It's such a gooden, or was. But, anyhoo, the reason for this post is that I just discovered that one of the stars, Jenny Lewis, is now a folk singer- and a not too bad one at that. Being a childhood star doesn't always bring out the worst in people it seems.

Krafting.

Another fantabulous Kraftbomb happened this weekend- in the bigger hall at the Grey Lynn community centre. We could breath and move about and so could the punters, the buzz was great. Jess and I had a fun time on a the stall as always and here is a whole lot of Kraftbomb love pictures below for you to enjoy (I hope!).
