Inversion House.

I haven't had much to say this past week. Just busy preparing for the upcoming Kraftbomb- today I'm off on a mission to distribute the flyers I've been sent around my neighbourhood.

But I did find this, this morning which I think is worth sharing. It was (this dates back to 2005, sorry if you've all seen it already) a house in the Montrose neighbourhood in Houston, Texas. Artists Dan Havel and Dean Ruck created the vortex installation for Art League Houston before the houses were demolished that spring. The houses were home to the Art League Houston's art classes and Inversion was a temporary project to celebrate the history of the houses for the thousands of students who have taken there as they make way for a new facility.

I've had a few things lurking about since Craftwerk that I've been wanting to share. So here goes.

Firstly my amazing new paperdoll set from Kimberlee of Anemone. I was lucky enough to win one through her blog last week. She also had them for sale at Craftwerk and am sure she'll have more at the up coming Kraftbomb if you love Daisy as much as I do, and her cat! Thank you, thank you Kimberlee!

Secondly, the work of my friend Jess Allen. Jess and I joined forces for Craftwerk again and she added her stationary set 'Please Send' that I adore. She developed the set in the final year of our Bachelor and it has since been featured in Urbis magazine. Jess worked with a old box of letters that were her grandmothers to create the 'Please Send' set and I hope it helps (at least me) revive letter writing.

Lastly, I was lucky enough to trade owls with some of the other crafters great things. I got 4 whimsical cards from Cheek Pinchy, all of which are grand and I don't want to part with them. A pair of sweet knitted fingerless mittens for littles and a very cute button necklace which I've been wearing since from Heart & Crafty. Thank you both! I hope you love your owls just as much.

My good friend, Alex, just sent me a link to jewellery designer Sabrina Dehoff's site. She does all kinds of beautiful and unusual pieces. The site just about drove me up the wall but the jewellery is so delightful it made me stick at it. Her Little Dreamers and Little Helpers collections are my favourites.

Craftwerk.

So, Craftwerk! Was amazing, insanely busy the entire time. We barely got the chance to have a look at all the great stuff. And unfortunately only caught a few glimpses of Serena's amazing fashion show through the crowds.

Jess and I were exhausted by the end of the night but everything went really well. Hopefully some happy customers! Jess's letterset's (I hope to post about these tomorrow) and her friend Anne's scarf buckles were hits and the whole line up of owls sold bar one. The lonely one hanging in the picture above.

On another note, I am always on the look out for great fashion designers lurking in the depths of Etsy (they are few and far between) but Gin has found another stunner. Check out her blog here for the link.

Zoe Ikin does Helvetica.

Zoe Ikin and I did a our Bachelor together and she has just put out a great line of silver Helvetica letter badges, hand cut and polished. I remember her sporting one or two through out our last year and they are beaut in the flesh. Endemic World are the exclusive stockist I believe, and you might just see a few of the Studio Alexander staff, Zoe included, sporting one at Semi-Permanent tomorrow.

Unlucky me only gets to go on Saturday.

Preparing.

Busy bees getting ready for Craftwerk, Thursday next week for anyone in town! Here are some sneak peaks of what we've been working on. More owls, owls, owls. Waiting on their eyes.

And our (new) gocco efforts. :) Everything you hear about this machine is true. Even though Ginny had given me a crash course lesson before mine arrived I still didn't really believe it could be that simple.

After doing a lot of my own messy screen printing before, could such a small machine be so wonderfully simple? But the Gocco truely is too good to be true! We will definately have some sort of Gocco printed goods on our stall next week.
